Three Schools, One Creative Vision Creative Cluster Athy
Category : Post Primary
We had an incredible time during Year 2 of our Creative Cluster! Students from three schools—Bishoptown Community School, Mid West School for the Deaf, and Holy Family School for the Deaf—gathered in Athy, County Kildare, for a series of engaging and enriching activities.
Throughout the three days, participants explored various creative endeavours, including pottery with Jayne Foley from Tribe Art and screen printing with Angelina Foster from Blueway’s Art Studio. Students also took part in a variety of exciting activities: an icebreaker workshop led by Charlie Hughes, dragon boating with the Athy Dragon Boat Club, a visit to the Virtual Driving Hub, cycling along the Blueway with Kildare Sports Partnership, Yummy Coffee & Treats in Dilly Dally, a walking tour with Athy Sing and Sign, an interactive Q&A session with Seamus Malone, and a movie screening at Athy Community College. So many people helped to make all this possible – Thank you so much!
It was an extraordinary three days that allowed students to forge deeper connections with their peers from other schools. These experiences not only nurtured creativity but also boosted the students’ confidence and overall well-being. We are grateful for this opportunity and look forward to more collaborative adventures in the future! Special thanks to all the staff for helping to make this possible and thanks to Creative Cluster and Dept of Education ESD for funding this initiative!
