Holy Family Deaf Choir
Our Deaf Choir started as the St Mary’s School Deaf Choir and achievements include our annual performance at the Helix Theatre Emmanuel concert. Before the merging of St Mary’s and St Joseph’s schools, some of the boys had already joined the choir and we are delighted that the Holy Family Deaf Choir, under the stewardship of Choir Master Shirley Higgins, will continue to be a feature of our new school.
The choir plays a key role in developing the self-confidence of our pupils. Furthermore, participation in the choir, with rehearsal time as well as performances, demands a strong degree of discipline and commitment from each participant. These life-skills are crucial to our young people as they forge their future paths in education, careers and life.
Feature articles in the Irish Times and other media have established the choir as the leading Deaf Choir in Ireland and we are extremely proud of their achievements.
