JCSP Celebration 2025
Category : Post Primary
Today, we had a wonderful JCSP Celebration, recognising the achievements of our 3rd-year students who completed the Junior Cert School Programme. The graduation ceremony was a joyful occasion where we celebrated their dedication and success.
Our students actively participated in the Creative Dance Initiative, the Film Making Initiative, fundraising for charities, and organising events such as Maths Day. They also played active roles as members of the school sports teams.
Some of the students participated in a Poetry Workshop with Colm Keegan, where they created their poems. Some of these poems were read at the WRAPP (Writing, Reading and Performance Poetry) event at Trinity College and were subsequently chosen to be recited again at the KPMG Children’s Book Awards Ireland in Merrion Square. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments! We were so proud that we published their poems in a book—a keepsake each student will receive, with an unlimited edition available on the JCSP Libraries Sora App. We believe that their poems and achievements deserve to be celebrated and cherished forever. Each student will receive their copy of the poetry book, and their work will inspire others to chase their dreams.
I’d like to leave you with a heartfelt paragraph from Ibrahim’s poem about his family:
“My family gives me hope and strength.
We move forward like the bravest team.
They give me the courage to chase every wish and follow every impossible dream.”
This poem resonates deeply with our school family here at Holy Family School for the Deaf. We hope that all our students, poets, and readers will continue to chase every wish and follow every dream. Wishing all our 3rd years the best of luck in Transition Year.
