The Legend of the Christmas Tree

Category : Post Primary

Well Done to all transition year students for creating this signed story of ‘The Legend of the Christmas Tree’. What a beautiful mystical story. Transition Years created this signed story for the primary students in the Holy Family School for the Deaf. The confidence of our students signing, presentation and special efforts make the story more exciting and engaging. Well done to your teacher Ms.Lorraine Creed and Ms Sarah Jane O Regan.

As we approach the Christmas holidays, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone in our school community for the tremendous work that has been done since September to keep those in our school safe.

Please find attached an open letter from Dr Tony Holohan to parents/guardians of school children which encourages everyone to continue working together, limit social contacts and maintain the social distancing practices over the Christmas period.

Cuteness Overload as the children in Early Intervention walk for the Christmas ISL Run.

Category : Early Intervention

Congratulations to Geraldine Lewis and to all the children in Early Intervention on completing the 12km ISL Run Bronze challenge over 12 days. We are very proud of you all. It is never too young to be active and here is a quote by Summer Sanders “Don’t just tell your kids to be active and to get outside and play. Lead by example.” Well done Geraldine and to all your students.

Fundraiser for Dublin Zoo!

Category : Primary

Second class primary students have organised a Fundraiser for Dublin Zoo on Monday the 6th of December. They asked everyone to bring in 2euro each so that they could have a no uniform day and help to raise money to keep Dublin Zoo open. They designed their own posters to advertise the day and notes to go home for all students. The grand total is in and they have collected 151euro? Well done everyone and to your teacher Ms.Roisin O Sullivan for helping you to organise this fundraiser.
Sophia and her brother Bobby designed their own Save The Zoo T-SHIRTS at home❤️

Thank you to Salem who raised a fantastic €22 for the Dublin Zoo

Toastmaster of the Week Award

Category : Post Primary

Congratulations to TY student Noel Geralty who has won the ‘Toastmaster of the Week’ award. Noel has shown great confidence in delivering a speech to his classmates. He was highly commended for the way he structured his speech – Clear Introduction, main body, and conclusion. Noel delivered a speech on ‘The person who Inspired me’. He spoke about the famous footballer Salah and of his Philanthropy skills. He is inspired to be like him one day in the future.
Noel is also the ‘Grammarian’ in YLP class and the word he has introduced today is ‘Ecstatic’ – How very app! I am sure he was ecstatic to win this award. Well Done Noel.
