Congratulations to our teachers and SNAs who have completed the ‘Introduction to ISL Linguistics’ course during the summer. Special thanks to Irish Deaf Society and to the Centre of Deaf Studies, Trinity College for providing this course. Our teachers and staff have found it very helpful and we have learned a lot more about the linguistics of ISL, the handshapes, spatial awareness in ISL, non-manual features, socially unacceptable signs and euphenium in ISL etc. The course was very interesting and thank you to the presenters of the course Teresa Lynch and Carmel Grehan.

Our Transition Years students and their teacher Sean Herlihy had great fun making this video introducing themselves. Social Distancing did not affect their filming skills! Well done students. Best of luck in all your endeavors this Transition year.

Thank you to Aideen Lynch and Maggie Owens for coordinating Digital training for all our educational staff. Our teachers are looking forward to preparing their lessons using Google Classrooms. Google for Education will help teachers to create classes, distribute assignments, grade and send feedback, and see everything in one place. It will certainly make teaching and learning in the Holy Family School more engaging and exciting!
