They taught ISL through four different topics; animals, country flags, food and careers. The 1st years really enjoyed learning ISL through bingo especially those who got a full house! ISL STEM Glossary Project

Category : Post Primary

Teachers and students were invited to the launch of the Irish Sign Language STEM Glossary Project in the Deaf Village Ireland (DVI). This was organised by Dr Elizabeth Matthews with DCU and it is funded by SFI (Science Foundation of Ireland) and it is phase 2 of the project which focuses on Environmental Science glossary. Our own Geography teacher Sandra Creagh was also involved in the project.

There was a wonderful atmosphere with RTE Weather Station set up in the lobby. Students had great fun signing the weather forecast. You never know maybe one of them will be a Weather Presenter or a Meteorologist in the future!

We also got to meet Gerry Murphy an Irish Meteorologist from Met Eireann and presenter for RTE.
