Our Green school committee organised an Electrical collection day at the Holy Family School on the 6th of December where students and staff brought in their old electrical items from home to recycle. It was a great success, small changes make a big difference to our environment. Thanks to everyone for their contribution.

Teachers and students were invited to the launch of the Irish Sign Language STEM Glossary Project in the Deaf Village Ireland (DVI). This was organised by Dr Elizabeth Matthews with DCU and it is funded by SFI (Science Foundation of Ireland) and it is phase 2 of the project which focuses on Environmental Science glossary. Our own Geography teacher Sandra Creagh was also involved in the project.
There was a wonderful atmosphere with RTE Weather Station set up in the lobby. Students had great fun signing the weather forecast. You never know maybe one of them will be a Weather Presenter or a Meteorologist in the future!
We also got to meet Gerry Murphy an Irish Meteorologist from Met Eireann and presenter for RTE.

Holy Family Students did some excellent fundraising in aid of Irish Cancer Society. With their teacher Ms. Shirley Higgins, Shirley Wolverson and Suzanne Carson they organised a ‘Wear Purple Day’ and they baked up a storm baking delicious cakes and tray bakes. They raised a substantial €469.16! Well Done to everyone involved for organising, selling and for buying, supporting this worthy cause.
